In June 2002 Israel began construction of a massive security fence in the area of the Green Line, the unofficial border where Israel meets the occupied West Bank. The Israeli Government said the fence was designed to prevent Palestinian "terrorists" from entering Israel. Not so, said the Palestinians who have denounced the fence as a "wall of apartheid" and accused Israel of sinister motives, saying it is reinforcing its occupation under the cover of security.  Behind the Fence follows the story of the controversial fence from the outset of construction, through the eyes of Israelis and Palestinians who are directly affected.
