Video of the Week

Artist: Boubacar Traore
Song: "I'll Sing For You"
(Je Chanterai Pour Toi)

Boubacar Traor has resurfaced in the music world after a long absence. Once a star in his native Mali, whose songs were heard pouring out of everyone's radios, he fell on hard times once he married and had a family. The death of his wife seemed to be the final straw that lead to his withdrawal from the musical life he had known.  But life is full of twists and turns, and Kar Kar (as he is called) is back in Mali making music again, and touring. The film "Je Chanterai Pour Toi" him as he revisits the places that mean so much to him. Our evocative excerpt catches him in an intimate moment with calabash virtuoso Madiey Niang as he pours his heart out singing the title song.

Best Viewer Comments Of The Week
(Keep them coming. Next week it could be yours!)

"Hello Wonderful Link TV!!! After years of not watching TV you have made me a coach potato--learning so much and opening my mind--THANK YOU!!!" Sent: Monday, November 01
"Link TV provides a vital service informing viewers of opinions and views that the U.S. media can't due to time, ratings and $$$$$ from advertisers. I was fairly set in my ways and opinions about various issues until I incorporated Link into my daily regimen. Now I have a much broader understanding about ourselves and how the world views us. It upsets me and in a very profound way that's good. Keep up the great work and keep challenging all of us to take a closer look around our tiny orb to be more aware." Sent: 11/1/2004
